Major in Health Society and Populations

Megan Coffinbargar is a Junior majoring in Health, Society, and Populations. As a freshman, Megan decided to pursue HSP  as a major after doing research on ovarian and breast cancer. "Instead of treating illness I wanted to prevent it, so that changed my scope and frame of mind into public health."

The Health, Society, and Populations (HSP) B.A. degree will provide graduates with a broad liberal-arts education, in addition to a concentration on social science-based approaches to understanding health outcomes. HSP students will obtain the fundamental knowledge required to understand the relationships that exist between the global economy, social and structural inequalities, and the distribution of health and illness
